Detroit Hip Hop Soul Artist, SAVALLACE, creates a blended style of music for adults who love to party and for young people who love & respect the vibe of original rappers & hip-hop artists. He believes that a rapper is simply the spokesperson for what’s happening in the streets. His music takes listeners on a journey of real-life illustrations that he affectionately describes in his songs.

Dubbed ‘SAVALLACE’ after the smooth, laid-back mannerisms of TV detective, KOJAK (a.k.a. Telly Savalace), Detroit’s budding emcee takes pride in living out the characteristics of the detective’s charismatic personality. Beyond that, he found added meaning to the name. “SAVALLACE or ‘SAV-ALL-ACES’ represents the idea of knowing how to have my own ace-in-the-hole or trump card, it’s always with you. You just have to be strategic and know when to use it.”

Ace of Hearts - The Love Card
Early in life, he found his own voice and affection for “the pen” and began writing poetry. He wrote about things he saw around him and his daily experiences, the training ground for the life depictions expressed in the work of the now highly regarded lyricist, storyteller and emcee, SAVALLACE. As a teen, he appeared in his first rap performance before a large audience at a Wayne State University Talent Show and won first place, beating out college-aged competitors. From that moment, he knew his heart was on stage. He pocketed that Ace, knowing the time to play it was still to come.

Ace of Clubs - The Party Card
When he was 16, SAVALLACE hooked up with 039 Entertainment — a young, hard-core gangsta rap group. While a part of the group, he could not totally relate to the lifestyle, but on the final CD, they gave him his own songs. “I was growing as an artist, learning more about the business, writing lyrics and learning the culture behind rap music. It was an invaluable experience.” He grew up in urban Detroit high schools, suburban schools and his time at a rural college in Northern Michigan was invaluable. Hanging out with people from different areas gave him a wealth of life experiences & relationships that he values greatly. He uses it for inspiration in creating his music, leading to another Ace to hold for the future.

Ace of Spades - The Knowledge Card
After college, SAVALLACE worked at Detroit’s Museum of African American History as Special Events Manager of one of the largest African World music festivals in the country where he learned the music business inside out, creating events and working with artists. He then landed a position as Production & Road Manager for national Motown Recording Artist KEM. He worked on multiple tours featuring national recording artists such as Fantasia, Floetry, Chrisette Michelle, Governor and Mike E, and international tours covering Durban, Johannesburg, Germany, Sweden, London, Paris, and Rome. Savallace absorbed knowledge from his exposure to the world music scene while continuing to write and rehearse his own music. He never lost focus, remained watchful, kept his cards close and added yet another Ace to his fold.

Ace of Diamonds - The Business & Money Card
Gearing up for the release of his debut CD, SAVALLACE is confident, focused and ready to take the world by storm. The budding emcee has emerged as Detroit’s newest addition to the industry, and has made several appearances at the African World Festival and performed nationally with the Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Tour. He received an industry nod with the Grammy Pre-Ballot Nomination for his written and performance contribution on “The Introduction” featured on the 2009 Motor City Horns album release, Local Boys. With this industry confirmation, he picked up the last Ace card, confirming his ambitions.

SAVALLACE is making the music he loves; telling the stories of the streets, and the people he meets; always reflecting on what he’s learned, so he doesn’t make a bad move. The deck is stacked in his favor ’cause he Saved-All-Aces.
